| The Rails-To-Ales Brewfest is made possible by the concerted efforts of many organizations and individuals.
Event Hosts: Cascade Rail Foundation The Cascade Rail Foundation (CRF) was formed in the summer of 1999 for the rehabilitation and historic preservation of the Milwaukee Road facilities at South Cle Elum. It is the vision of the Cascade Rail Foundation, in partnership with Washington State Parks, that the South Cle Elum site is dedicated to the interpretation and preservation of the history of the Milwaukee Road’s Western Extension and electrification. The Milwaukee Road is considered one of the most significant and cherished railroads ever to exist in the United States. For further information please visit www.milwelectric.org.
The South Cle Elum rail yard project is included in the Washington State Parks Centennial 2013 Plan, to prepare parks for a 100th birthday celebration and a second century of service. The Parks Commission is committed to long-distance trail development and to caring for the hundreds of historic buildings in its charge. The Cascade Rail Foundation was organized to assist Washington State Parks in development of the South Cle Elum Rail yard Historic District and its interpretation. Iron Horse State Park/John Wayne Pioneer Trail is a non-motorized trail that begins at Cedar Falls in the Cascade Mountains and extends 109 miles east to the Columbia River near Vantage. The trail includes high train trestles with spectacular views of the valley below, cool dark train tunnels, mountainous terrain, sagebrush desert, arid scrublands and charming countryside farmlands of the Columbia Basin. We welcome you to visit The Brick, Washington’s oldest continuously operating bar, established in 1889. The Brick originally started out as the place for cold drinks for the coal miners of Roslyn. From our famous 100 year old bar with spittoon to our jail cell and all of its history, this is a great place to revisit the past. For those who like to party we have live bands every Friday and Saturday night with lots of festive activities we participate in year round. We are also known for the TV series Northern Exposure filmed here in Roslyn and other movies including Dick Van Dyke’s film the Runner Stumbles.
