Vicci Martinez -

“The world needs more musicians like Vicci Martinez.”

- Naomi Judd

Vicci may be 24 years old, but she writes, sings and plays guitar with the touch of a veteran. Vicci is an acoustic-based
singer/songwriter with a passionate voice, profound lyrics and incendiary live performances. The Tacoma native is growing
a grass roots following and critical acclaim with her contagious live performances throughout the Northwest and beyond.

After the 2005 release of her 4th album, On My Way, Vicci has been touring the region non-stop, repeatedly selling out
the prestigious Triple Door in Seattle and opening for Sting and Annie Lennox at the White River Amphitheatre.

Vicci has been on the cusp of mainstream stardom with successful appearances on CBS-TV’s nationally syndicated Star Search and winning the regional tryouts for American Idol in 2000 at the tender age of 16. But she has turned down such offers in favor of pursuing success on her own terms and staying true to her musical vision.

Whether it’s an intense solo performance, an acoustic duet, or her electric full band, her powerful mezzo soprano is equally
convincing on anthemic rockers and sensitive ballads. And her songwriting has progressed well beyond the “promising” stage.
This vibrant young singer continues to develop her talent patiently, building a solid ground of experience playing major
festivals and the top venues in the Northwest region.

Free Beer at Exit 80One cold night in 1999, some Roslyn residents gathered in spontaneous musical celebration. A few weeks later, the band Free Beer at Exit 80 emerged to play its first gig. Today, the band continues to create music that is as eclectic as it is energetic. How do we describe it? Free Beer at Exit 80 plays an organic mix of blues, rock, funk, and bluegrass. Melodic, sweet, and dynamic, the sound encourages a musical experience: Rock-Move-Jam-GrooveDance-Trip-Run-Skip. Imagine a grassy park where the Grateful Dead was once to play. A guitarist looking for Garcia trips over the blanket of a drummer tapping MMW on his legs while humming a Galactic tune on his lips. From the sky drops a keyboard with some Doors / Santana combo going on, and a bassist with a band called Mindslam in his pocket but Matthews in his ears sees the pile of musicians and says, Hey, this is kinda groovy. If thats not half enough, then add an acoustic guitar player with Greg Brown and SCI on the brain, a violin player bowing Bloch and Bach, and one more drummer with a Phishy Meters groove in his skull, and figure that they show up with a brown bag of Free Beer!
